Tabi Note

Privacy Policy

Effective: October 17, 2026 / Updated: October 18, 2026

This policy explains how the developer of Tabi Note (“the app”, “we”) handles information about people who use the app (“you”). If this English version differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.

1. Information we collect

The app has no sign-up. We never collect your name, email address or phone number.

Your records (the places you paint and their levels, visit dates, notes and collection records) are stored only on your device and in your own iCloud (the private area of Apple’s CloudKit). We cannot see or access them.

Paint from Photos: only if you allow photo access, the app reads where and when your photos were taken — on your device only — to find the prefectures and countries you’ve visited. Photos, locations and dates never leave your device, and we never receive them.

Voting for the next pack: when you vote, the app stores the option you voted for together with an anonymous user ID that Apple issues for this app (it isn’t linked to your name or Apple Account email) in iCloud’s public area (CloudKit public database). It is used only to keep one vote per person and to show vote counts. You can remove your vote at any time.

Pack downloads: collection data is downloaded from our website, which is hosted on GitHub Pages. Your IP address and similar connection data are sent to the hosting provider (GitHub, Inc.) as part of the request.

2. Third-party services

The app uses the following services, each of which handles information under its own privacy policy.

3. Ads and tracking

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. On first launch, iOS asks for permission through App Tracking Transparency. Only if you allow it is the advertising ID used to personalize ads across other companies’ apps and websites. If you don’t, ads are still shown but are not personalized.

You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland can change their consent in the app under Settings → Ad Privacy Settings.

With Tabi Note Pro, no ads are shown and the advertising SDK is not started.

4. International transfers

Through the services above, information may be processed in the United States and other countries. These providers handle it under their own privacy policies and the data-protection laws that apply to them.

5. Deleting your data

In the app, Settings → Delete All Records removes your records from your device and iCloud. You can also delete the app’s iCloud data in iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud. To remove a vote, tap the vote button again in the Collections tab.

6. Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the update on this page with the revision date.
